Powder Coating Twin Screw Extruder
A twin-screw extruder is a crucial machine in the powder coating manufacturing process. It is used to mix and melt raw materials, ensuring a uniform composition before cooling and grinding into a fine powder.
Functions of a Twin Screw Extruder in Powder Coating Production:
1.Feeding: Raw materials (resins, pigments, additives) are fed into the extruder.
2.Melting & Mixing: Twin screws rotate inside heated barrels, ensuring uniform mixing and melting.
3.Dispersion & Homogenization: The high-shear action of the screws distributes pigments and additives evenly.
4.Extrusion: The homogeneous molten mixture is pushed out through a die in the form of a thin sheet or noodle-like strands.
5.Cooling & Flaking: The extruded material is cooled down and broken into flakes for grinding.
