An Air Classifying Mill (ACM) is a crucial machine in the powder coating manufacturing process, responsible for grinding and classifying powder into fine, uniform particles. It ensures precise particle size distribution (PSD), which is essential for achieving high-quality powder coatings.
How an ACM Works in Powder Coating Production:
1.Feeding: The cooled, solidified flakes from the extruder are fed into the ACM.
2.Grinding: The material is pulverized using a high-speed rotating disc and impact mechanism.
3.Air Classification:
•A built-in classifier wheel separates fine particles from coarser ones.
•Fine particles exit as final powder coating, while oversized particles are recirculated for further grinding.
4.Cyclone Separator & Dust Collection: Removes ultra-fine particles and ensures environmental safety.
